Kampot Pepper

Overview

Kampot Pepper — the first pepper in Asia to earn Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). Grown on the mineral-rich slopes of Kampot and Kep, it is sun-dried and hand-sorted into black, red, and white peppercorns with a complex, citrus-spice aroma.

How it is produced

Kampot Pepper

1

Terraced Slope Cultivation

Vines climb quartz-rich soil on Kampot's slopes; only traditional methods and natural rainfall are used, with no chemical fertilizers.

2

Hand Harvesting

Peppercorns are picked by hand at different ripeness stages — green early, red at full maturity — to produce black, red, and white pepper.

3

Sun-Drying & Sorting

Black pepper is sun-dried 3–4 days; red pepper is separated from its husk; white pepper is soaked and peeled. All are hand-sorted for export.
